  1. Why are notifications emails arriving in my junk or spam folder rather than my email inbox?

    Double check to be sure that your spam filter is not blocking our address. Also be sure to have the most recent browser updates installed on your computer.   2. Why is the system not recognizing my information when I try to register?

    Check to make sure all of the authentication information you have entered is correct. If your information is correct and you still cannot authenticate please click here to contact us or call us at 301-556-4300 X 557.

  3. Who do I contact if I have questions regarding my benefits?

  4. I’m locked out. How do I access my account?

    A customer service representative will have to unlock your account. Please call us at 301-556-4300 X 557 to have your account unlocked.

  5. What if I have forgotten my Email Address?

    Click on the Forgot Email Address link and follow the steps to recover your email address

  6. What if I have forgotten my Password?

    Click on the Forgot Password link and follow the steps to reset your password

  7. How do I access my 1099-R through the portal?

    To access your 1099-R, you must have an account with the Online Benefits Portal. If you are already registered with the portal, you can use your current username and password credentials; there will be an additional menu tab for your 1099-R once you log in.

    If you were previously registered to receive your 1099-R electronically but do not have an Online Benefits Portal account, you will need to click LOG IN and use the email address you previously used to access your 1099-R. Your password will be your Social Security Number; you will be immediately prompted to change this password.

    If you have never before received your 1099-R electronically and do not have an Online Benefits Portal account, you will need to register as a NEW USER. You will need to provide your Social Security Number, last name, and zip or postal code to validate your identity. Then you will need to create a username/password combination you will use to log in.

    Once you are logged in to the Online Benefits Portal, there will be a tab present that will let you access your 1099-R for download and print. You will have access to the current year’s 1099-R and those for up to six years prior.

  8. Is this site secure?

    Our site uses a 256-bit encrypted Symantec secure site pro (with Extended Validation) SSL certificate. These certificates offer the strongest SSL encryption with vulnerability assessment and malware scanning to help protect this site against attacks. We’ve partnered with Symantec, the most recognized name in online security, to validate us and establish our online trust.

  9. Is this site certified for mobile devices?

    This site is currently certified for mobile devices.

  10. What do I need to do if the letter I received on my entitlement to benefits is missing some of my work history?

    You can mail or fax a written letter to the NEBF stating what the discrepancy is and ask that your record be further reviewed.

  11. Which version of browsers to use on Windows/Mac?

    Our Online Benefits Portal is designed to operate on modern browsers including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Edge and Opera.

    Browsers other than those present in the list of recommended browsers may have compatibility issues with the Online Benefits Portal and we recommend users to switch to a browser in the list below if they are using one that is not present here.
